Lars J. Brouwer, currently in his final year of getting his bachelor’s degree in Music Technology at the Utrecht School of Arts, works under the monniker of ‘BlackBear Audio’. Although being known for a quite direct approach at his work, taking quick decisions and being quite rudimentary, he always let’s creativity flow, trying unusual things, capturing unexpected beauty.
There’s a lot of uninspiring material out there, so why not go for that ‘one of a kind take’, which sets just the right mood, instead of being perfect in every way, and thus loosing emotional value?
Music is about moving people. So if it works: don’t break it! Even if it contains a little rumble.
Or a little unwanted coloration.
It makes things Unique.
Unseen.
Unheard.
